Does your child have a vision problem?

Checklist

Some common types of difficulties include:

- skips or rereads lines

- tilts head when reading

- covers or closes one eye whilst reading

- difficulty copying from the boards

- words ‘run together’

- poor eye-hand co-ordination including poor handwriting

- poor estimation of distances and depth

- holds reading material too close

- fatigue with reading or comprehension drops with time

- blurred vision at near

- double vision

- dizzyness or nausea with near tasks

- says ‘I can’t’ before trying

- disparity between good verbal skills and relatively poor literacy skills
